Just bought a disc, but haven’t used it in a race yet. I was wondering if it was OK to use them in the rain, and whether or not you have to cover the cut-out for the valve stem. To me it looks like the inner core could be damaged by excessive moisture. FWIW, the disc is a Renn.
OK to run it in the rain, water shouldn’t hurt anything.
I cover the hole because I know it’s more aero that way. Faster by 2-3 seconds in an Ironman…
Is this to say that all of you are in agreement with Cousin Elwood? Has that ever happened before? Who woulda thunk it was possible that everyone is in agreement on this.
Since I don’t brake anymore in the rain than I do in the dry (in other words non existent). Use it. You know it makes sense…

I actually called Frank on this just last week because I was using mine for the first time and it was forecasting rain all weekend for the race. He said the honeycomb stuff is treated and it is fine to use in the rain.
