I see that USAT has just announced they are going to re-run the elections. I know many members here have an interest in this.

I guess I’d like to know why the revote. Perhaps they didn’t like the results of the first vote.
I certainly hope they issue a statement regarding why. There needs to be a very compelling reason to throw out an election.

I know for one, there was a problem with the elite ballot. There were items that we were not allowed to vote on.
So, that may be part of it. I am unsure if there were other issues with the general/age group ballots.
Vote no on the resolutions, or at least I will.
Hopefully there will be some sort of official statement from the board or election officials, there needs to be as this election was a mess. Multiple issues with the Elite ballot as well as with the age group ballots.
Wouldn’t it be nice for a change if someone actually stepped up and said “we really f’d this up and it’s my fault” instead of just getting the constant blame game.
I know for a fact USAT will be making an announcement of why of the re-election. The Federation has an election committee in place that establishes fairness across the board.

Not to get too Lavender room here, but, in recent politics we have some interesting examples to juxtapose this case against. The National healthcare website (and how that was “handled” or, mis-handled) and the recent Gov. Christy (NJ) “fiasco.”
Speaking for myself only - I’ve become a tiny bit cynical when it comes to other people spending other peoples money (especially mine).
So, ya, I think that the PR needs very little spin (please) and lotsa truth and responsibility. I’m not gonna hold my breath though.

No doubt it will take several meetings to come up with a story that won’t leave all of us with a good laugh and our eyes rolled back. Seems like this has become typical USAT operations anymore.
Having a new election in the middle of the offseason with no one paying attention or voting should get the desired outcome for those currently elected

I’m a terrible coaching member of usat because I paid zero attention nor did I vote. I tried to attempt one time to sorta read what was on the tables and I seemingly got lost (a lot more stuff than I realized).
I think I remember the elites’ trying to “steal” a spot, and then it got called out, so were the initial results of the vote released?
Please read Dan’s Oped on the front of this weeks news, Dan does a very credible job of explaining the circumstances necessitating a “revote”.
The previous thread was vague about which candidates were elites (or I didn’t take the time to dig deep enough). Can someone point me to a list or flat out tell me who the elites are, especially for the southeast region?
I think the whole slate will have to be re-selected for the second vote- as will the resolutions- so you can expect a full and detailed slate, when USAT commences then new election.
BTW you can go onto the USAT Web site and look at the total number of Elite card holders and which region they reside in.
