i’m a fan of our federation and how it’s managed. but one thing that is unfortunate is the federation’s constant backsliding on one of its stated goals: transparency. afaik, there is no demographic report anymore, which used to be an annual thing. the sunshine policy was stripped from the bylaws. the elections are, of course, a joke, because you get a resolution presented to the membership, for the membership to vote in, with the reason for the resolution stated, but without a voice or view narrating the opposing argument. and now as you note we haven’t gotten board minutes in 7 months. so that’s all disappointing.
but it is still one of the best run and managed federations under the olympic umbrella.
Committees are a tough one. I’ve been on a few professionally and it can burn you out. You want to give back, do your part to help advance your industry (or sport or whatever). But it takes so much extra time, and people at the top end of their field are the ones that can get stuff done but also have little room on their already full plate for more volunteer work.
But there definitely is a trend on that site. It went from one a month, to once a quarter, to two a year. That’s not good.
Most NGB’s don’t even file taxes. USA Skateboarding hasn’t filed taxes since 2016 and their website is just a registration portal, seriously no idea who sits on the board. So I’m in fact surprised that we have all meeting minutes posted from 2020.

source on your claim that most NGBs don’t file taxes? USAT takes in $15mm or $20mm a year. it’s one of the top half dozen NGBs in terms of revenues. USAT isn’t skateboarding. USAT has a governance history and resulting behavior flowing therefrom that are very likely unaware of.
The purpose of the post was to highlight how well run and transparent USAT is. It is probably the best run NGB that is currently certified by the USOPC and its International Federation. Most NGBs are a mess.
