Is it neccessary to be US resident to get an US pro licence? Or is it enough to be member of an US triathlon club?
I do not mean the “foreign elite licence”.
No ideas?
have you tried contacting USAT for answers? www.usatriathlon.org
They may be out of office for holidays or snow, but they would know and can help you.
Look at the applicant form and it should spell it out.

Hey,
You don’t have to be either a US resident or a member of a US Tri club. All that is necessary is to have met the elite/pro qualification standards. The Elite and Foreign Elite license are pretty much the same thing. Both are $100, both allow you to race and accept prize money in the pro wave. The FEL does require that your native country lists you as elite as well this allows you to bypass the Elite license quals. So, if you have not technically met the Elite quals but are recognized as a pro in your home country this would be the easier way to go. Other than that it is a wash.
Good luck, let me know if you have any more questions I am a member of the Athlete Advisory Committee (AAC) to USAT.
