I kinda want to like the multi color more but I think the fact that some of the letters are touching kinda throws me off…I can’t decide…What does everyone think…
Option 1. There is alot going on with the paint job and I think the extra colors on the letters is a little much. But I prefer simpler paint jobs anyway.
But I don’t like the newspaper print thingy going on in the inside. Too busy. Do what you like though!
^^This. I know the reason for the print the way it is from your other thread but unless the lettering will show up darker when on the bike I think it’d ultimately look better with a solid color.
So… I really like the images collages clipped by the S-Works letters. This being said, they look very out of place with the rest of the paint job. So I second the votes for a solid color, or maybe just the outline of the letters in black, since you have PORSCHE in simple black already.
#2 is better than #1 but I have to agree with a few of the guys that said to go with a solid colour. While the idea behind your design is cool, if you are more than a few feet away from it it looks like the logo has faded.
Perhaps a solid colour with a pinstripe outline? Red/Black?
The first decal is more subtle. It allows one to circle through the design and lets the stripes remain dominant. It has a certain understatement to it, letting the bold stripes do all the talking, and saves the details for even more interest at closer inspection. The letters’ texture makes you want to get closer to the bike after the initial awe of the paint scheme, to see what’s going on.
The Blue, Option 2, takes my eyes away from the amazing racing stripes. It says BAM! S-WORKS! in comparison, and while it’s obvious that the letters have some detail, it doesn’t invite me to study the bike at multiple levels the way the first one does. In fact that’s the problem - the bold blue outline makes it too obvious that the letters are special of themselves. It lays it all out at once, and I don’t like that compared to the effect of Option 1.
Option 1 FTW
(but, I had the page minimized and when I brought it back up the blue version was on screen. Don’t get me wrong, both versions look great - I just scrolled down again and thought “yeah, that blue looks pretty damn good!” too. I think the blue version actually looks better on the frame, but option 1 will fare better when the bike is built up. Which one is more characteristic of the real martini designs?)
I like the idea of the multi-colored decals, but I think the execution on those decals makes it too busy. Up close the decal looks amazing, but the red outline gets totally lost and there isn’t enough contrast with the b&w fill on the wider shot. You also loose most of the white space in between the letters which adds to the “stuffiness”. If you can increase the spacing, it might work better, but going with what you have right now, I would select the cleaner one, option #1.
