I have a 2017 Wahoo Kickr, figured I needed to update the firmware. I’ve tried and the damn thing won’t start when I press the firmware update on my phone. Looking at the firmware version, I need at least two updates maybe all three, any ideas?
Assuming you are using the Wahoo App?
What phone do you have? If it’s a Google phone, Pixel, or something similar it won’t work. I went through the same process with the device not able to flash the software as it seems blocked for security purposes. I tried for hours to get it to work, then put the Wahoo app on an old Motorola phone and the firmware flashed and updated very quickly.
Galaxy S8
.
Hmm, not sure on the Samsung phones. I’d try something else if you have access to a different phone or tablet with Bluetooth that can run the app just to eliminate that as a possibility.
When I updated mine, 2017 Kickr Core, I was using an Essential phone and it didn’t work. Switched to an old Moto X and it updated right away. When I was trying with the Essential it would download the firmware to the phone, but then failed to send it to the trainer.
We have an iPad and my GF has an iPhone…so can try with that.
Thanks, used our iPad (I normally run zwift on my PC) and it worked.
