Well it pains me to have to do this, but I have to retract the glowing review I gave these headphones.
In theory, these are the absolute most kickass things in the world. Sadly, in practice they do not hold up. I got a pair for Christmas from the beloved wife. I was so excited. No more cords while running! In November I got the new verizon Juke and have been using it as my MP3 player. Now I would be able to go wireless! Charged them, and it took no time to pair them to the phone. Next thing I knew I was rocking out and walking around the house, sans cord.
Well the first 5 or 6 workouts went great. Until after about 10 days, suddenly the volume button on the side would not work anymore. Oh well, got a bad pair. Verizon happily exchanged them for a new pair and life is good again!
Well this happens 3 more times, the latest being last night while I was on the treadmill. But this time the fuckers turn off and will not turn back on. Maybe they just need recharging. Nope, full charge later and they still won’t turn on.
So today I had to end my relationship with the Motorola S9 headphones. Much to their credit, Verizon refunded the purchase price without giving me any shit. So I took the $130 and dropped by Best Buy and picked up a kickass pair of Shure headphones. They sound amazing and they isolate all background noise better than any other headphone I have ever tried.
So I am back among the wired users. For the last 3 months I have felt pretty damn cool because I was the only person in my gym sporting the wireless technology while pumping out the miles. Now I know why. Silly little fat man.
