Does anyone have any information on Cervelo’s upcoming paint schemes (for 2008 models)? I recently saw some pics of team CSC’s Cervelo SLC-SL bikes which featured the standard natural carbon finish but w/faded white airbrushing (actually reminds me of some of Colnago’s painting technigues). I think it’s an absolutely beautiful technique…I’m wondering why Cervelo doesn’t offer these paint jobs on its standard lineup.
In my opinion…utilizing these paint schemes and offering color options (ie: natural carbon w/fads to blue, red, silver, etc) would solve the two most common cervelo compaints: a) the paint jobs are boring/dull, and b) lack of customization (ie: 50 cervelo P3Cs at every triathlon which look exactly the same).
That’s a much better use of white than on the current P2C.
I’d like to see if the R3 or P2C are changing as one of those might be my next bike depending on whether I go road or tri. I don’t mind the blue P2C, but would really like it if it were something more visually appealling.
The R3 I like a lot…but there is always the option of something cooler.
I gotcha. It seems like Gerard said something in July about showing new paint schemes shortly after that…wonder what happened?
As I said, I don’t mind the blue P2C and I like the R3. So if something new comes out, hopefully the 07s will be a little cheaper. That said, if something new came out that was stunning, I may drop the extra couple hundred dollars for the new paint job.

They came up with a new invisible paint, that’s why you can’t see it in the newsletter.
