I am new to this site.
I am new to a lot of sites.

I am dismayed with some of my conservative brethren.

First, a tale about my childhood:

My dad was in the Marines, ultraconservative.
It would be like if I was raised by MojoZen Master.

When I was young, my brother said something about President Carter.
My dad cracked him in his mouth, said, “The man is the President, with a capital P”.

I wonder if I should have my dad visit some of you!
The man is the President; don’t be a douche.

Anyways, I think you can criticize the President about a lot of things, but wasteful spending isn’t one of them.

How much will the student loan program cost?
What will be the economic impact?

Compare this to the tax cuts to the bankers.
What was the economic good that came out of that?

Or the war in Iraq?
The President knew there were no WMD’s, but sent our troops regardless.
And then he made jokes at the Press Club dinner.
And spent $800B.
“Honey, I think I shrunk the surplus”.
Those politicians couldn’t care less about our children.

The reason we have such clowns running in 2012 is because a good part of our party cannot think critically.

Brethren, I hope you take my criticism in stride.

IMO the terms “right wing” and “left wing” are so muddled that they really don’t help much in understanding people’s true positions. But since you decided to base your username on the concept, I’m curious to know: In just what ways would you classify yourself as being more “right wing” than the average person?

A second question: Isn’t your username a rather weird choice for a site where the principal forum is about triathlon?

I espouse family values, fiscal responsibility, non-interventionalism.

Do you agree with that?

If you work harder and you are smarter, you should get paid more.

But, this isnt what is happening now with the banks.
The banks are dead weight loss on our economy.

They absorb bail out funds, charge money with no value add.

But, because of donations, they get away with murder.

This is why the banks are taking a haircut in the EU, but we floated the whole thing.

I was similarly dismayed with folks calling President Bush names or whatever.

It lowers the quality of the discourse.

Could you point out the very worst comments? I am sure they exist, but I would place chainpin’s rants right up there, expletive for expletive.

(note, I just looked, and the very worst comments seem indistinguishable, while Obama gets more hits than Bush on most “<POTUS’ Name> %$^#&” searches)

I disagree. While the attacks on his policies and actions may have been disrespectful, it was only a very small number of people who called him names. Certainly, that number pales in comparison to the plethora of users here who call him so many different things I can’t keep track.
