Ultegra vs. Dura Ace crankset difference?

Looking at purchasing a compact crankset and wondering about the difference between these two. Is the Dura Ace worth the price difference? Thanks.

nope, id go with the ultegra sl b/c it looks the best.

105 comes in black and looks nice too!

Search out my “how good is your wine” post…

Get the cheaper one.

but the chainrings dont look as good.

that’s why FSA makes these:

Get the SRAM… the second one sucks to shift into.

55? Pussy, my grandmother can turn those over.

well thats just what GIS came up mine is actually the only 53T aero chainring FSA ever made

I ride a 59.2 and on sunny days a 64.7 - depending on the cross winds of course.

gotta post pics I’m super curious what a fractional chainring count looks like!

to actually answer the question, the ultegra is heavier, but on deflection tests was shown to be stiffer (significantly) over the FSA k-force, RED, DA cranks (arm only)

now this is 7800 6600 comparisons, so i’m not sure if the same is still true for current gen
.

For guys like us weight and stiffness are all but negligible. Worth the price? Only you can tell. Will DA look cooler? Oh heck yea. Will it make you faster, probably not. I’m sure someone has a chart showing where 100 grams over Alpe Duez would equate to 5 seconds, but in the real world no. If you are going for boner effect just slap down some Record Carbon 11 and then you don’t have to worry b/c the only place left to go is downnnnnnnn.
