Looking for a bit of input. My di2 suffers from an intermittent fault where it stops shifting then starts again on. The system just shuts down sometimes during a ride other times just before I start. I have ran multiple diagnostics and every time it comes back all ok. Swapped batteries.
I have checked all connections and they are ok except the box in my bottom bracket which I can’t get to on my own.
Any thoughts other than replacing all the wires etc
Might be worth breaking and remaking each of the connections using the Shimano tool, in case one of them isn’t fully home - each connection should click as it’s fully engaged.
When you say “shuts down”, do you mean it will not shift at all, front or rear? If so then it’s either the battery mount cable or the A junction cable, both if which terminate in the B junction. You’re going to have to pull the crank to diagnose this if the B junction is internal.
Hi all,
Sorry interrupting your thread, but I’m trying to buy my first tribike and new to this forum and couldn’t find a new bike thread. Please direct me to a better thread if there is one.
I tried a Trek Speed Concept 7.0 yesterday. It’s a 2012 on sale for $1,725, so seems like a good entry level price. It has SRAM Apex components, which I know are low end. Gears 2-6 were making a lot of noise, but the rest were fine. Something didn’t seem right, so I had the store mgr/tech adjust, but it didn’t change. He said it was due to the cables being new and they will change over time. But shouldn’t he be able to make them work right for a while even if they change? I’m used to Shimano 105 on my mtn. bike.
I like the idea of Trek because they have their own stores, but I can’t find knowledgeable triathlete sales people. They want me to do a $300 measurement test. Is it worth it?
I’m also considering used bikes, but reluctant with the . There’s a Giant Trinity TT, also carbon frame, for the same price w/ Ultegra 10 speed group set.
I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I tried to read some on-line materials but they’re relatively superficial. Any suggestions?
Check the routing to the shiifters. My own experience with intermittent faults was due to the fact that I hadn’t taped the wires properly before routing them to the shifters. Everytime I put some weight on the hoods, the connector would come loose. Make sure there’s enough slack in the wire and tape it down carefully.
Cheers guys did it again this afternoon just before a turbo session plugged it in and it’s the battery mount lucky i had a spare as first one went as well. That’s two of these now that have gone within a year unlucky or bad design!!!
