Is the Ultegra 10s Cassette compatile with a DA Drivetrain? The DA cassette is almost twice the price of the Ultegra’s.
Absolutely. I have an Ultegra cassette on my training wheels.
Thanks…
I’ll second that motion. Ultegra is a-okay. Especially on training wheels. If you’re on a budget, it’ll work just fine on race wheels too- just a SLIGHT weight penalty. I have Campagnolo parts on my bikes, and use Chorus (Ultegra equivalent) cassettes.
Is it just a weight penalty and no real performance loss?
I have both DA10 (road bike) and Ultegra 10 (tri bike). The only diff is the larger 3 cogs in the DA cassette are titanium instead of stainless steel. The rest are stainless. They are all stainless in the Ultegra. The DA cassette is a little lighter because of it - that is it.
Is it worth the price - no. Really, the only thing “worth” the price in the new DA10 over the Ultegra10 is the front deraileur, maybe and rear deraileur and the STI levers. The rest is not worth the price penalty for the paltry decrease in weight bascially. especially in things like brakes and cranksets.
