UCI goes after the "Men in Black"

Fascinating…

Gripper said that “We have information that they train in strange places.” The controllers refer to the riders as the “Men in Black”, because they wear neutral clothing on their training rides, rather than their team kit, which helps them avoid attention by the UCI controllers.
“Some of the results may well be announced before the start of the Tour de France,” Gripper said. "Several abnormal results have already come in.

The only thing less credible than a pro rider saying he didn’t dope is the UCI, saying he did.

Good grief. What a pathetic joke.

This is the funniest part of the article:

“We have picked out six or seven riders who are considered high-risk cases because of their suspect behaviour and subsequent good performances in the Tour de France,”

So in other words, you should suck on the tour and you will likely get away with doping
.

I wonder what an “unusual” training location is? Area 51?

And if they train in clothes other than their team kit, does that kind of make them illegal combatants in the PED drug war? They’re not accorded the same rights as a POW that a rider in team kit enjoys, huh?

I am as frustrated as the next guy with the whole thing. But if you start a list of dopers that said they didn’t and subsequently get caught, that is much longer than the list of where UCI says you did, but you didn’t.

Don’t worry, the UCI is hard at work to narrow the gap.

Didn’t Lance train a lot in other than team kit? I recall seeing him in black Nike kit with yellow armband on his TV show a few times? Hmmmmm?

I think he wore that just for his show.

I remember riding in Austin a few years back and the entire frigging Disco team rode by me in the opposite direction, all in team kit. It was pretty cool to see

“Some of the results may well be announced before the start of the Tour de France,” Gripper said. “Several abnormal results have already come in. We are busy with those results and not all of them are negative,” she said, “but it will take time, because we have to respect the process, the analysis of the B samples, before we can make any announcements.”

Didn’t she just disrespect the process already?!?

I think the UCI randomly accuses people with little or no evidence, but they get away with it, because everyone happens to be doping.

And I am sure the lab they sent them to are treating them as completely “random” samples…

When I read this article this morning, that was my first thought?

I have already predicted it on this forum, I will say it again, Vino will not ride…nor win!

Vino will win!!!

If he doesn’t ride I don’t think I’ll even watch, haha

I guess I could cheer for Zabriske
