I’m looking for a little feedback on the Uberhund bars and also does the brake cable feed all the way through the bar.
I have these bars and love them. They have great customer service and Bert Hull has been very helpful answering any questions I’ve had. As long as they fit you, they are great bars. Very light and low stack height, but completely unadjustable.
The brake cable exits from the bottom of the base bar, near the center. There is a picture on their website that shows the underside of the bars.
The only negative I can say (and it is minor) is that after 16 months, the white paint on the bars has faded to where it no longer matches the white of my P3. Again, very minor. FWIW, the paint my ritchey wet white stem has faded just as much as the bars. The whites never matched completely, but there is a much more obvious difference now with the bars and stem being more yellowed and the cervelo being still very white.
I have the bars on my Cervelo p3.
I love the way they look with the unidirectional carbon. Build quality is excellent and cables route through very cleanly. The one downside is with the arm cups. If you like them narrow you won’t have any problems but if you use the outside most mounting holes it tilts the cups too much and I don’t like how they feel. I swapped them out with a pair of 3T cups I wasn’t using and they work much better for me.
+1 on both replies above.
To the negative issues pointed out, I say that I get along well with the provided arm cups, but that’s fairly personal; and my white paint hasn’t shown any sign of fading so far - but the bars aren’t yet a year old.
The only thing you have to bear in mind is the non-adjustability: measure twice, buy once.
Overall I’ve been very happy with the bars, and will be parting with them with a heavy heart (I’m moving to a Speed Concept with the integrated Bontrager bars). If you’re looking for a 275mm S-Bend, drop me a line.
Cheers,
