Looking to buy a swimskin for IMCoz - curious about anyone that’s compared the Torque vs PZ3TX.
I strongly recommend trying them out. There is some variation in fit. I’ve found that the tyr torque bunches up in the back for me, while I don’t have problems with desoto, 2xu, orca, xterra b70 etc.
I will say that the BlueSeventy is a fantastic suit, and simply feels fast. Honestly feels like you have a shorty wetsuit on. Also, I had a wonderful experience with their customer service ( went out of their way to fix something for me) and will be buying a BS wetsuit for next season because of it.

I’ve been wearing a PZ3TX for ~2 years now and wouldn’t use anything else; unless they paid me copious amounts of money.
So I’d never wear anything else.
It’s a phenomenal suit that is exceptionally well designed and thought out; mine’s been worn a lot (most races I do are non wetsuit legal) and it keeps on banging out fast swims.
There was an article in Triathlete (or maybe LAVA), you should check it out.
+1 on the Blueseventy. Bought this for IM Louisville with no prior experience in speed suits. Feels comfortable and fast. Definitely consider sizing up one notch as they seem to run small. Great, great suit.
Bought a PZ3TX at the Expo of Vegas 70.3 used during the race and felt great in it. Regarding performance, very hard to tell if it made a difference. I like the breaking zipper to get out of the suit.
I have no experience with TYR but my wife use one and swims fast in it, first time she used it was actually in IMCOZ. She loves it. You have a cord to unzip the suit.
TYR was my first choice but none were available at the Expo.
My two cents make sure the suit is thight enough especially in the back, you don’t want to carry water in the back the whole swim. So make sure you try on a suit prior buying it.
Not to derail the thread but maybe this will help you with sizing yours. I just bought the PZ3TX in a M and it barely stays zipped up in the back. I know it’s suppose to be tight but I don’t even know if I could swim in it. I’m 6’1, 157lbs, long legs and sort of broad shoulders. The M was reccommened by Blueseventy. Should I tough it out and hope it stretches or go to the ML?

I have a friend that wears the ML at 6’3"ish and 190+ lbs (super jacked dude build, “T” shape). My roommate wears a M at 6’0" and 180 lbs (muscular build). I have another friend who wears the M at 6’1" and 155lbs (swimmer build). I wear a small at 5’11" and 150ish lbs (lean? build).
Your suit will not stretch.
Splitting hairs. They are likely more similar than different, especially when you put a tri kit on under them. I feel like the main advantage of speedsuits is simply that they let you wear your tri kit with less drag than if you wore the tri kit alone. Try them on, make sure they fit tight enough.
I have the Torque and love the way it fits, but the arm openings shread my lats during longer swims.
Sounds like I need to htfu than and go with it.
