I started reading his book and it’s quite good.
It sure confirms all the good I thought of LA.
I bought the book Thursday night, finished it this am.
I found the book to be very factual, in terms of the storyline. I really liked that Tyler tries to explain his relationship, falling out, and then disgust with Lance, and just how much power he has in the sport. No other rider was even close to his dominance in every facet of the sport.
From my perspective. Tylers fatal flaw is that he is too nice a person. He just wants to please everyone, keep his head down, do his job. Even when Lance shits on him, he still tries to point out Lances good qualities.
I’m only up to the 99 TdF win but what you stated is what has jumped out at me too.
I read floyds book I felt the same way. Very factual very easy to believe. Many “I saw him do it with other colaborating evidence” people sent to prison to later be found innocent with dna. Better 1000 guilty people go free than one innocent person go to jail.
I just would not ever want to to be tried by Slowtwitch.

For capital punishment, sure. For doping in sport, not so much. Plus, what is the downside to an incredibly high bar in law such that guilty people go free but no innocent is ever falsely accused? Everyone suddenly decides to rape, pillage, and murder? Hardly. But, what is the downside to a similarly high bar for doping. Yes, that’s right, everyone dopes to get an edge.
For you, no evidence is good enough unless he is caught in the act of injecting himself by an antidoping authority. Putting the bar that high essentially makes it legal to dope. If you think all the evidence presented in Tyler and Floyd’s books (and Walsh’s) is insufficient, then you are saying “fair game” to doping. I would rather the bar be so much lower that it is much more likely to catch someone based on NAP, even if the impact is the occasional innocent person gets caught up and has to fight to maintain his innocence. Again, this isn’t capital punishment.
I just finished the book. It was well sourced and creditable. There’s a great deal of interesting information in the footnotes. For example, LA tried to put together a group of investors to buy the T de F for $1.6 billion. The project didn’t get very far. But if he had succeeded, he probably wouldn’t have taken his wins away from himself.

Did you read this one? There are quotes from interviews by the co-author with other riders who were present and can verify much of what Tyler talks about in the book. Vaughters, vandevelde, Floyd and others are all quoted directly. It reads as far more factual than floyds did then. actual corroboration , research done by the co-author to confirm things, and there were really bad things that got left out because with the case going on by the time it got researched, some of it couldnt be confirmed.
