Tyler and the dauphine

anybody notice that tyler had a crash in the second to last stage of the dauphine? didn’t see anyone mention it here and it didn’t get too much coverage on cyclingnews, which i found moderately surprising given his history. from cyclingnews:

Iban Mayo (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and his team controlled the race well again, and as Rasmussen wasn’t a big threat, the orange crush of Euskaltel-Euskadi were content to ride a hard tempo all day across the climbs of Isere. The much expected attacks on the long, hard climb of the Col du Luitel didn’t really materialize, as Phonak was expected to attack Euskaltel. But when Tyler Hamilton crashed hard on a left hand bend on the descent of the Col de la Morte after 90km, it threw a monkey wrench in the Swiss team’s plans. After the stage, Hamilton described his crash saying, “I had a lot of speed in the corners trying to pass a guys; I kinda did a Beloki.”

hope he can keep the rubber side down the remainder of the way…

It’s reassuring to know that there’s someone out there that crashes more than I do.

Tyler seems to be okay, but hopefully the crash will not negatively effect his post-Dauphine/pre-TdF training. He’s going to be a real threat to lance if Lance is unable to dominate like he did in his first 4 wins.
