Amazon shows I have two choices of screen size for the Forerunner 10. 2.1cm or 2.5cm. None of the reviews I’m seeing mention this.
Does anyone know if there are any differences, besides a little lighter, smaller, and I assume a smaller font?
Anyone compare both and recommend one over the other?
EDIT: I see DC rainmaker’s review mentions different sizes and implies the smaller one is for women. Hmm.
Yep. The black one is the big screen, the Green and Pink ones are the smaller screens. Not sure why except maybe someone at Garmin thought the ladies would go for the colors and the men wouldn’t, therefor the the colored ones are smaller. However, they aren’t marketed that way as far as I’ve seen.
Side by side there is actually a very noticable difference in the display, but functionally they are identical.
My confusion was that there seems to be a black one in small now too.
Is the small too small? Any reason not to get it for a racing watch? Will it fit a dude’s wrist?
They added an orange strap option for the men’s. The strap on the men’s isn’t overly long, and the women’s is shorter (see: http://sites.garmin.com/forerunner10/ for a side-by-side). Not sure the smaller ones would fit many men. I’ve got smallish wrists, and the men’s only has a few holes left in the strap.
