Looking for a TV for the bedroom armoire. Nothing fancy. 27 in would probably be tops. What is this HD stuff about? What happens if I just get a “monitor”? I don’t want to have to run it through a sound system, or have a set top box. Just run the cable in.

For a bedroom HD is a waste…period. I have a 32" Sony Trinitron in my bedroom…big enough, and small enough. And to top that - I once tried to move the dresser that it is on, the TV fell off, landed on and destroyed the DVD player that was on top of it. The TV has a cracked (and super glued to look ok) part on the plastic…but works 100%.
Now - features you want…
#1 - TIMER…to turn off the TV in 30 minute incriments - super nice to have
#2 - Wake feature…use your TV as an alarm clock…turns on the news every morning at 7.
#3 - wireless headphones…so I can watch Raiders of the Lost Ark on AMC at 2am with out waking Tracy (and I am sure you know that if you see Radiers of the Lost Ark on TV, you just cant turn it off or change it).
