I hear Tufo S33 are really fast if you pump them up to 200 psi!
I had the 320TPI Vittorias and they are a nice combo of speed and puncture resistance.

I’m on the Vittoria Corsa CX II 320tpi (what a mouthful) and Veloflex Carbons. Both oare pricy but they ride like butter. the Vittorias are 23mm and seem to be a little more durable. I used to have gatorskins on some 50mms that I rode as my inner city wheels. They were heavy and slow but super tough.
Don’t now if it is necessarily bang for the buck. I only race on tubulars and I only train on clinchers. On my race wheels I use Vittoria Triathlon Evos. When I am not racing they are in wheelbags hanging in my garage where they will stay until the next race. They are probably a little narrower than a regular tubular (I am 195lbs so I notice it a little) but when they are pumped to 140 psi on my Zipps they sound absolutely evil - like Darth Vader’s TIE fighter in Star Wars. Some ST’er can probably bloviate ad nauseum on rolling resistance, TPI, butyl vs. latex inner tubes, etc… Here’s my take - once you get to a vendor’s premium tire (Vittoria, Continential, Veredestien, Gommitalia, Schwalbe, etc.) they are all pretty good. I grew up racing on Vittoria CXs so I am a little biased. The Triathlon Evos are easy to get on the rim, hold up well, run straight, feel great and sing like an Italian Opera at speed. I am sure some of the other high end tubulars are similar. Just make sure that you know how to mount them correctly or get them done by someone that knows what they are doing and make sure you can change them under stress (when you are tired, sweaty, stressed, hungry like in a race).
