Hi all, I got my first TT bike in February. It’s working out great except the saddle. It’s a 2019 Cerevelo P3 and came with an ISM PS1.0. It feels like I’m riding on my bones on my inner legs. I’ve built up some tolerance but even after 90-120 minutes it is pretty uncomfortable. I’m left feeling a bit sore around the area as well.
Has anyone had similar pain? What saddle worked for you?
Saddles are difficult since everyone is different but I had a similar experience to you. I have a P2 which came with an ISM PR 1.0 and I watched the videos on how to set it up, I gave it a lot of time and still didn’t work, adjusted a bit, still didn’t work. I’ve tried ISM, Fizik Arione Tri 2, Specialized Sitero and a couple more that I can’t remember the name of, and the only saddle that I’ve tried that works for me is the Specialized Power Comp.
I personally like Dash - have them on both my road and tri bike. I have the stock stage on the tri bike and strike on by road bike. It did take a little while to adjust to so little padding. Some are thrown off by the high custom priced options, but the ‘stock’ options are pretty comparable to others in terms of price.
Ya, most short nose / TT saddle are tricky to fit… need to be higher and more forward than normal saddle. Make sure you correct fit before spending more money.
I’m personally a big fan of the Specialized Sitero… but everyone here will tell you that their saddle are the one that fit best
Most good LBS have trial programs, but once again make sure you have the correct fit.

Thanks! I’ll check out the Specialized Power Comp. It’s also good to see you didn’t give up.

Thanks! I’ll check out the Specialized Sitero. The fitter I used has a bunch of test seats but I don’t think he has Specialized ones.
Fiddled around with many saddles on the TT, never quite cracking it. I just assumed that discomfort was inevitable and it was manageable, just, up to IM distance. Settled on the Adamo as the least worst option.
But after a 12 hour time trial and 2-3 weeks lost training battling chronic weeping sores after I got desperate as I really wanted to do more 12 hour TTs.
I pushed the boat out for the Dash, I’m based in the UK so no ‘try out’, a pure and very expensive gamble.
The saddle arrived and it was an object of minimalist beauty, ridiculously light. Neither of these really mattered I’d have happily settled for heavy and ugly if it solved the discomfort.
It was a game changer, almost from day 1. I’ve had it 4 years now and still love it. It’s one of the best cycling investments I’ve made.
An unexpected bonus was discovering the cavity between the rails is unusually large as everything is so minimal and it makes a perfect storage for spare tube/CO2/levers.
Cobb saddles work great for me, I rode for years on the profile design tri strike model and it never gave me any issues but the Cobb v flow plus and Cobb 2 plus are great. I bought 2 plus 2’s and one v flow off ebay and never had to pay more than 70 dollars for any of them.
I had terrible saddle sores and discomfort from my PS1.0. I tried quite a few different seats but couldn’t find anything better until I got hold of a BiSaddle. It took me a few weeks to dial in the fit - they adjust width front, width back, and angle. It has been spot on ever since. No more saddles sores even after long indoor training rides. I have the short nosed SRT. The Longer nosed EXT is a great road or TT saddle too - super comfy.

I’ve had the same feelings/pain from ISM saddles. I was fit by Jonathan Blyer at Acme Bicycle Co in Brooklyn and he got me on a Cobb JOF55 or whatever it’s called these days. It has definitely been more comfortable than the ISM and got rid of that pain on the bone of the inner leg, as you describe it.
