Looking for some advice on mounting my computer to my aero bars. Or to the stem? Homemade or purchased product?
I can’t mount it to my handle bar, nor am I using a BTA hydration system, so thats not an option either.
Its an element Bolt and the bars are 22.2
Here is the piece that wahoo sells, but a few reviews have said it come loose easily which would be miserable to deal with on any ride, especially a race. But there are not many reviews.
What about attaching to stem with something like below?
I think i’d like it a little farther up for visibility, but not a huge deal.
Rather a quality product than something cheap/troublesome that I just have to replace later.
I also dont want to spend $60+ on K-Edge.
For the adapter, a bit of tape takes out the slack and makes for a tighter fit. You could, of course, just glue the adapter into a Garmin mount and then it’s a total non-issue.
I have the K Edge one. It’s bombproof and works awesome. As much money as we already spend on the hobby, just get it. It’s a drop in the buckle to not have to worry about it. Plus it’ll last forever.
Wahoo makes a TT bar mount that they used to ship with all the ELEMNT computers, I guess they must have discontinued this practice since I’ve been hearing a lot of similar questions lately.
I guess you can buy it for $15 still but for a $0.30 cent piece of plastic you’d think Wahoo could just keep shipping all 3 mounts with every computer sold.
I bought the K-edge mount but wish I had tried the Project 76 mount instead. What I found with the K-edge is that I had to have the computer up higher than I would preferred so that I had enough room to twist the head unit on and off. Because of how high it is, I’m limited to a 20 oz bottle up front so it’s short enough to not be hitting the unit with my bottle.
Found the K-Edge aero bar mount for less than I thought. Must have missed it before.
Wahoo only shipped a handlebar mount with the computer. Maybe I could have requested the aero bar mount in place of had I known.
The handlebar mount fits my road bike though.
The Corki mount is impressively good for the money. I’ve been using it on a gravel bike with a head unit and light/go pro, and it’s been totally solid. You can see some pics of the setup in a review that should be up on the main page shortly.
