TruVativ Rouleur crankset

The people at the bike shop and I have decided that I need a 177.5mm crank, and we have decided on the TruVativ Rouleur. When I was still shopping, I posted on here asking what people suggested, and I only remember one person who said they used this.

On top of that, I haven’t been able to find much in the way of reviews online either.

So does anybody use this crankset? If so, what are your impressions?

At this point for me, it doesn’t matter much, because I am a beginner (and I don’t have much to compare it to). But at the same time, I am curious what kind of crank I am getting.

Does that help you at all.

All of them are riding the Javelin Boralo as well.

Thanks. That bike appears to come with the TruVativ Rouleur carbon.

Looking at the specs, it looks like the carbon crankset is actually heavier than the regular. I wonder why that would be.

I’ve ridden a carbon Rouleur (GXP External BB) on one of my road bikes for about a year now. Pretty nice crankset but I’ve had trouble with the crankarm coming loose (even when properly torqued). Another guy I ride with had his BB wear out after only about 1K miles on his cross bike… the service was harsher than a normal road bike but it still seemed like a short life. His complaint was that he had a really hard time finding BB cups for replacement. (Apparently standard D/A cups do not fit). Upside they are WAY cheaper than D/A.

I have read that before. I think on roadbikereview, maybe. I wonder if that happens with the regular rouleur, or just the carbon.
