True Treadmill - belt slipping sideways?

I purchased a True S77 around five weeks ago, but just got around to doing my first real run on it today. The belt was slowly slipping to the side as I ran, eventually hitting the rail on the left side. I was able to hop off and, as the belt spun, kind of kick it back on center, but this isn’t any sort of fix. Is this something that may resolve itself as I run more, or does something need to be tightened up??

EDIT - yes, Sole, not True. True was my old treadmill brand that I replaced with the Sole S77

I thought S77 was a ‘Sole’ brand model?

Regardless, it may just be that the two adjustment screws at the back of the deck need to be adjusted to tighten the track a little bit.

Nate-
My TM has an adjustment at the very base at the end of the belt on both sides for an allen key to pivot the tension on the belt -on one side or the other. Turn it just 1/4 turn until it’s in the center and not moving under load. Repeat again, if necessary.

I have a LifeFitness TM and I had to do this once when the belt started to hit on one side and rub.

Thanks, guys! I’ll give that a go tomorrow.

Be careful not to overnighten it. You can stretch and ruin the belt. You should be able to get a couple fingers between the belt and the deck.

If you get it centered and run the machine at the fastest possible speed, will it track and stay centered? If so, it shouldn’t need adjustment.

Couple things will cause it to move when you are running.

  • Unlevel ground: slope of a garage was normally a culprit of this.
  • Limp or injury: causes you to favor a side.
