Any one else have trouble with the screws? 2 of them simply won’t move. I’m afraid I stripped the heads trying. WD40 didn’t work. Any other ideas?

What HR strap are you using?? I had to change the battery on my HRM1G strap last month… took all of 10 seconds

My advise is to go buy a cheap set of the tiny “hobby” or whatever screwdrivers. I’ve replaced a couple of the Garmin HRM batteries and having the variety of phillips/standard really helps. I think I have to use a standard screwdriver on at least 1 of the screws.
Do you have the “premium” one with the softstrap?
I bought one, and had to go out and buy a set of screwdrivers from Radioshack. Were about 5 bucks. Probably jeweler’s screwdrivers would work too, but not sure where to get them.
Have been having a problem with the battery running down pretty frequently though. I’m replacing it about every 1-2 months. Does that sound about right? I’ve noticed that my garmin 310xt will “find” my new heart rate monitor before I even put it on.
My old standard strap wouldn’t register on the garmin until I actually donned it.
Yeah, it’s the softstrap one. The 210. I got it in late July or August and the heart rate data started getting unreliable last week so I figured it was they battery. I bought jewlers tools and got 2 of the screws out but the other 2 are stuck tight. I tried WD40 and manipulating the back to try and break up whatever is sticking the screws. They are still stuck.
I’m about to suck it up and buy another strap. I may be sure I can loosen the screws first before using it. At least then I can return it. Maybe my sweat gunked the screws up?
they are super super easy to strip out. You could try carrying to a jewelry store or a battery center? They might charge small fee though.
Good idea. May save me buying a new one.

Pretty sure that the best thing to do is to send it BACK to Garmin and let them do it…So, they can charge you $120 for a $10 battery…

They are easy to strip, even with the proper tools. Fortunately, Garmin sent me a completely new strap.
