I’m ordering some Speedo Endurance Square Legs. I figure I’ll check TriSports first and use my USAT discount. With the 15% discount the suit is $36.54 with 3-5 day shipping at $11.30 for a total of $47.84 I’m fine with that price, especially if it lasts as long as people say.
Then I look around a bit. SwimOutlet has the suit for $30.96, 3-5 day shipping at $4.99 for a total of $35.94
I’m not purely a bottom line guy. I’m willing to pay more for convenience, to support local businesses, to support companies I perceive as “good”, etc.
Does SwimOutlet use child labor? Do they operate a sweatshop? Do they gleefully pollute our rivers and streams? Is there return policy pure crap?
Just trying to figure out the price difference - especially the extra $6.31 for shipping. What am I missing?
Swim outlet is pretty legit, ordered from them multiple times, I usually get the grab bag jammers and they are typically cheap because they are a previous season’s color. Prices tend to be slightly lower, I think they do a larger volume of swim stuff so can afford slightly cheaper prices with less profit per piece, plus a lot of time they are getting closeout’s from the manufacturers so they pay less to start with. As far as ethics in production whether you buy a speedo from one shop or another they are all produced in the same factory. Swim outlet and Trisports are just the online dealers of the speedos.

For the vast majority of stuff, trisports.com is not the best deal. End of story really. I was a big fan of theirs back when they were cutting edge and had all the latest and greatest stuff that nobody else had. But now everyone has it, and for cheaper and better shipping options to Canada.
Other companies are just doing it better and cheaper than they are. I hope they can turn it around but I would be hard pressed to go back to them anyway.
Swim outlet is in southern Ohio so shipping to SE Michigan is much faster and better priced than Trisports. Since trisports held my team USA stuff hostage last spring I stopped ordering from them

I too get the grab bag jammers, 2 about every 2 months. Usually add new goggles as well as they seem to wear out as well. Also their supplements are priced right as well.
Trisports is average to below average for places to shop. Prices are higher than other places, coupons have tons of exemptions, shipping charges are high and their inventory pretty much sucks. I’ve used swimoutlet a ton, but I can’t remember the last time I found something at Trisports.

You should switch the endurance fabric stuff. It lasts about year and that is swimming nearly everyday for at least an hour.
I wouldn’t say their inventory sucks, perhaps I was just buying what they had in stock all of the time.
Still trying to be fair to them, their prices are on par with most of the other shops around, but I don’t understand why they are trying to get $1299.99 for a PT G3 hub that retails for $789.99 on the Powertap website.
They had hit me pretty hard with shipping charges while Nytro and Running Warehouse ship faster for much less money. Since Swimoutlet is so close to me, I can order something on Monday and have it on Wednesday.
The only reason I still consider them is cuz Brian is sponsored by them and I have a lot of respect for him.

I pretty sure SwimOutlet does a much higher volume of sales than TriSports does, at least as far as the swim gear goes.
I do find TriSports shipping to be expensive, but I’m in Tucson, so I just buy in store or order online with in-store pick-up.
I use swim outlet quite a bit. I’m impressed at their selection and how much they’ve expanded their offerings. Very fast shipping for me too… but now I know why (SE OHIO only 500 miles away).
I’ve ordered a couple suits for my 4 y/o daughter this year. She asked for a pink swim cap and also some mirrored goggles like daddy wears (I don;t wear a pink swim cap… usually a black one). I was more than happy to oblige.
I couldn’t agree more with many of the comments here. I used to really like TriSports, but in the last couple years their pricing seems to becoming less and less competitive. Each year I shop with them to use my USAT coupon, which IMO doesn’t seem like a deal when I can get the stuff cheaper elsewhere. For example this year I ordered 50 bucks worth of stuff and it ended up not really saving any money, versus if I hadn’t had the $20 coupon and just ordered on Amazon or SwimOutlet. For me it sort of diminishes the value of the $20 USAT coupon. It’s really too bad because I prefer to support Tri specific shops, but if I can get a better deal elsewhere I generally will.
TriSports employs very nice people, but their website is archaic, their inventory is terrible, their pricing is high and their shipping rates are ridiculous. There is a reason they filed for BK protection last year. I hope they turn it around as they really were pioneers in the marketplace and the people seem to be great.
