TriRig BTA Elevator

Did you find it stable while riding? The current TR riser with a shim does wobble a bit with a single 30oz bottle. 2 on there I really moves

I’ve been riding the non adjustable riser since it came out and haven’t had issues with 3 bottles. Swapped to the new one and it feels sturdier if anything. Need to use a shorter bolt on that PD wedge under the front bottle but I’ve got no hesitations running this setup.

Hi Ben - I have been thinking of raising my bars….what’s that bolt you have running through the vertical post in the picture? Stability with the weight of the bottles?

That’s the Tririg Multi Bottle BTA rail shown below.

I think he means the bolt just above the base bar. It looks like a sort of ‘security’ thing to prevent the monopost from slipping down? Ben can shed his light on it. But it sure looks like that there is another sort of seatpost wedge attached to it in a upside down position to create an extra support. Might be that the monopost wasn’t designed to carry 2 or 3 bottles at that specific location.

Ah so that alpha one is an out of spec basebar that I was testing with that knowledge. I added a few bolts just to ensure no slippage. I don’t think the weight of bottles affects any possibility of that anyways. If anything it would be my super forward position.

would you mind weighing the system as a whole or separately, and/or showing me a top picture of the setup ?

Makes sense….thanks!

As in BTA elevator and up, including cages? I can try to get that today.

153g for the elevator. 401 for elevator + rail + 2 cages.
Sorry looks like I don’t have any pictures from the top right now and its all off my bike at the moment.

Thank you very much for your effort. Not as heavy as I would have thought, still you have to add the bridge. You can gain some weight will other bottle cages I’d guess, but those are looking good.

I’m going to say this is much better. So much adjustability. Before and after.

Well thank you, I came here to complain about the price and weight, now I’m about to buy it.

Did you get the bridge to put it between the wingspan xl ? Cause the rest of my setup is pretty much the same.

That’s the plate that came with the VPR-i. And you are correct, it is a tad on the heavy side and weight weenies might struggle with that.

We’ve been using the Elevator for the better part of four months now, and it’s been super helpful for testing bottle placement. We’re finding significant savings with certain bottle placements similar to placing bottles in the jersey, but more consistent since it’s not kit dependent. We have not found stacking bottles to be aerodynamically advantageous, but there’s a lot of testing yet to come. There’s a few other tips and tricks we’ve found that we’ll detail in an upcoming video.

With the changes IM just announced, is this now potentially an illegal set up?

It limits the volume of the bottles to 2 liters, not the number of bottles it takes to get there.

Throw on a fourth and run 4x 500ml bottles.

It’s 2L (67 oz), right? If you put three 20 oz. bottles, you’re fine, but three 24-ounce bottles violate the rule. Kind of wonder how IM will enforce that-- it’d take a keen eye to spot that. In any case, the bottom line is that there is still a reason for me to invest in the elevator.

Quick: someone test the optimal configuration of 500ml and 1L bottles (e.g., 4x 500ml bottlees versus 2x 500ml facing backwards & 1x 1L facing forward).
