Trigonometry Help w/ Stem Height Change

I started to dig up the trig formula, and thought I’d go the lazy way and see if anyone with the subject more fresh in mind could solve this for me!

I have a flat stem (-17 degree “rise”). I am thinking about a -23 degree stem to get lower. With a 120mm length, how much lower will I be from that additional -8 degrees?

Thanks!

11.8mm?

12.5mm lower and .7mm shorter (based on 73 HTA)
.

Whoa, I didn’t even think of the fact it would shorten the reach. Thanks for reminding me of that. Have to bump up to a 130mm length.

The additional cm down will be about perfect.

Thanks again.

the reach shortening is 0.7 of a mm, it may be overkill compensating for that with a 10mm longer stem.

Oh, POINT 7. I thought it was 7mm as I read it too quickly – thanks again (though I think I could use the extra reach anyway!).
