Triathlon® Knee Replacement System

While driving home from work today I heard a commercial for knee replacement and I thought I heard them say the
triathlon knee replacement. So when I got home I looked it up…
Stryker Triathlon Knee Replacement system…

Interesting name and it did get my attention…even though I don’t need a new knee.

I guess the name comes from the comment on the web site about the three(tri) areas of focus
increased motion, 1 better fit, 2 reduced wear 3 - and an ongoing commitment to product
beats me…

My wife does need a new knee at 43. She can’t run on the one she has. But I guess she wouldn’t be able to run on the triathlon knee either.

The Strykers are good…but you won’t be running in them, so hope you don’t kneed one (hehehehe) anytime soon!

My dad (63 years old), who has spent his younger years as an avid runner and has been a high school and college football ref for over 25 years, had double knee replacement surgery about 3 weeks ago. I checked out the website and it looks very similar to what he just had done.

Pretty amazing stuff. Surgery lasted about 90 minutes (for 2 knees). He was up and standing the very next day. He was “walking” the second day. In less than a week, he ditched the walker and only used a cane. Now in his fourth week, he is able to walk without the cane (but still carries it).

Doc says he likely will be able to ref football again next season.

Amazing.

Interesting stuff…wonder what they actually meant by Return to Lifestyle.? Does that mean return to running? hmmmm
