I’d like to see someone do for triathlon what the guys at flocast are doing for swimming and running. Sure we have this website and a number of interesting blogs scattered around the internet but I like the flotrack and floswimming formats with blogs plus videos of interviews, workouts, and casual life. Watching the Olympic trials was more exiting for me because I had a better idea of who the athletes were and flocast had BY FAR the best pre and post race coverage compared to all the other news networks I have access to. I also think the extra coverage could bring in more money and sponsors for pros trying to make it in this sport. Look at how much advertising nike, reebok, asics, brooks, adidas, speedo, tyr, and so on get on these websites from their athletes and then think about how many gullible triathletes would go out and buy the stuff they see pro triathletes riding or working out in on a site like “FloTri”. I think its great what the Canadian tri team has done and I’m really pulling for them this Olympics because I’ve enjoyed following their “Olympic Journeys,” especially the “20 questions” segments and I think a website with more personal interviews would do well. Triathlon has the numbers but I think the next step for the sport to grow is to give it more coverage beyond what slowtwitch, triathlete mag, and random blogs can provide.
flotrack.com is an awesome site. Insidetri offer videos on their website but it would be neat to have more though.
we are working on this. you should see a launch in the next year or so.
