Triathlete Mag's Bio Builde Infomercial - I smella scam

I’m just feeling cranky this a.m., but…

TriMag is known as a very incestuos publication anyway, but I think this month’s Bio Builde “article” (puff piece/2 page ad) may be a new low.
“Bio Builde is the greatest stuff since free beer was invented. No need to train, this stuff is like steroids without the steroid. Everybody wins with it, you can’t win without it.” Followed by a nice, big expensive ad.

No counter-claims, no possible negatives, no list of ingredients (in the “article” or on the website). Just “trust us”.

Anyone (who isn’t paid to take it) have any experience with this stuff? Is it, as I suspect, the new placebo of the 21st century?
Rant over, all clear.

Funny, was thinking the very same thing when I read it. Makes one wonder. Screw it…I need all the help I can get…I never train and am pretty out of shape…send me a gross of the stuff. I can drink it and watch the Simpsons right? Did I say Simpsons? I meant…old Ironman broadcasts…yeah yeah that’s it.

Kentiger and bobo,

Were you guys sleeping when this subject was exhaustively covered in a previous thread. Oops, I’m sorry, maybe your magazines got stuck in the U.S. Mail (USPS?) This stuff (Bio Builde) and this guy (David I. Minkoff,MD) don’t deserve further mention. Ultimate scam and scammer. Check out the previous thread before adding the same old stuff on these two subjects. If you have something new to add, then by all means.

I don’t think I was sleeping (but given the fact that I rotate shifts I might have been) but you never know. Might have been fixed to the couch watching the Simps…Ironman broadcasts. Thanks for setting me straight…couldn’t have done it without you. Sorry for taking up your valuable time and ST space on such a frivolous topic…please forgive me.

.

Boy, I thought it was Bobo who was cranky this morning!

I sit corrected.

I am trying it. I read the article and had to buy it. If I knew they guy who wrote the article had a stake in the product, I wouldnt have bought it. I havent noticed a difference, recovery is no better or faster. I’ll go back to my regular cheaper protein mix after im done with this expensive product. Its $50+ a bottle, compared to $20 a bottle for other similar products.

Kentiger and bobo,

OK. Please accept my apology. I’m sorry I said what I said the way that I said it. I should have suggested that you guys get up to speed by reading the previous thread on the subject before speculating further and going where many before you have gone. We, myself included, all benefit here from the contributions of others, like yourselves. Keep up the good work. I’ll sit out for a while in the corner and chill.
