So I work at my lbs and we have a du/tri team. We use Voler for the regular tri clothing. Those suits have a large back pocket and are not really cut too close to the body for the uppers. Its ok but some people (myself included) are wanting something better. An elite suit if you will. So the owner put me in charge of helping him choose another brand and suit. He said cost really doesn’t matter. I figured I would check with you all to see if you have any recommendations on suits. So a good elite suit that can have some custom work done on it to have the shop’s logo and other team sponsors on it too.
So far I have thought of: 2XU, Champion systems, TYR, Zoot, and Kiwami. Some things I would like to see with the suits besides the custom work are: high quality fabrics, possibly no pockets or maybe some small pocket for swimming w/o a wetsuit, chamois that is very minimal, and a suit that really hugs the body and is not loose. Some other questions
What brands have you had good luck with? Back zip or front zip? (I have used a back zip and it seemed just as good as front) No pockets for non-wetsuit swims? 1 or 2 piece. Ive always used a 1 piece but 2 piece suits can be nice for longer races from what I’ve heard.
Any other suggestions or help would be much appreciated.
Howdie mate,
How many pieces are you looking for? There is a couple of fantastic high end versions and I have really good contacts to some of them.
We have tested a lot of suits and the ZeroD as well as Skinfit are definitely up there at the front but also TRI11 a new brand coming to the US now has a really sweet new suit. I also have a great contact for entirely custom made at a really good price.
Shoot me a message!
Rock on,

I would take a look at DeSoto, they have a wide range of different training and racing suits. And they no do sublimation, so that will work for getting your sponsors and team logo into the fabric. And if you need something custom, I’m not sure but I think he can make minor changes to small runs…
I like DeSoto as well - I would look at what they have to offer.
My cycling team has been using Verge gear for a number of years with great success. I just joined another shops tri team that uses Verge as well http://vergesport.com/ Right now they only have one “classic” tri suit on their website, but I saw posted in another thread here on ST that on guy/team was helping them develop an elite level suit…so I contacted them. This new suit is pretty much finished and ready to go - so I ordered one thru our team kit order and should have it in mid-march. I don’t know much on the specifics, but I figured it has to be better than the classic they’ve been offering. Just another option.

I have a whole lot of mens ‘Orca’ elite and equip tri-suits that would be right for what you describe. Both the Equip and Elite are designed for a non-wetsuit swim with no pockets and special fabric to go fast in the water. They all have a very light chamois.
Just spent the last day making a new website for them :
http://www.tri-suits.com/
But they are also listed in my hobbie website below:
