I've been using Nike road bike shoes for the past 2 seasons and was wanting to pick up a new pair. I noticed that there are tri shoes selling now. Is it just the ease of getting in and out that makes clipless shoes into tri shoes? Anyone with recommendations? I was also looking at Specialized Boa cycling shoes. Review would be awesome.
I use the Specialize S-works road shoes now for everything (including tris). Awesome shoe since you can slip them on and go right away! You can tighten, loosen on the fly whenever you want. No hot spots since they cinch down evenly across the top of the foot with the Kevlar fiber (or whatever it is) closure. The are also light, stiff reflective silver carbon fiber sole, and use the body geometry insole that works for many people. Only real downside is cost, but if you only need 1 shoe instead or road and tri, then they are actually cheaper.
