Tri bike work stand

I’ve been searching for a good bike work stand for my carbon fiber Felt tri bike but haven’t really found much. Or at least haven’t found something specific for carbon fiber bikes. The bike is new so being an over-protective parent at this point.

Any recommendations on a basic work stand to swap wheels, make minor adjustments, etc?

I have the Park Tools home mechanic stand. It’s fine, not great, but it gets the job done.

I like this one. It doesn’t clamp onto the frame, so you don’t have to worry about your carbon getting squeezed. If you wait a little while, there will be a sale, and you can get this pretty cheap.

I have that elite stand that I got at Nashbar and it works pretty well.

Not sure what you have, but I have an IA… which means I need to be able to get at the bottom bracket to get to the rear brake.

I use a feedback sport pro elite stand (but any would probably do) and this guy:

The felt rests on the rubber stoppers… you can rotate it, etc…

Similar to the nashbar elite race but more expensive

I really like the hirobel one, I would probably get one if I was in the market for another stand
.

Feedback Sports’ Sprint Stand works well for me. It’s the only stand I’ve ever used, so not sure what I’m missing, but can’t imagine what else I’d need.

Ha! You clearly read my mind and typed faster.

Great minds think alike,

Scott

The reason that stand doesn’t work for some, is that some bikes (like the IAs) have rear brake by the bottom bracket.
Putting it in a bottom bracket stand makes it inaccessible… for frames without that “feature” it works awesome

Thanks all. Seems like these are great options. Are swapping wheels out a pain on the sprint or nashbar since it seems you have to reposition the bike on the stand for adjustments to the front or rear depending on which one you’re working on? Or am I just looking at the images wrong? Sorry new guy. Just purchasing race wheels and thinking ahead.

And to clarify, I do have an IA

The Sprint does work with the Felt IA - you just rest the BB support “arms” slightly forward of the brakes. Used it hundreds of times on my wife’s IA.

As IknowEverything menioned on the above post, just adjust it to where the bike is supported right under the BB an voila:

I DIY’d myself a stand like this from a cheap sawhorse, some scrap timber and an old front axle. Raised up the rear end high so the rear stuff is easy to work on

Not familiar with the IA but on my Elite stand with my SC I can rest the BB at very edge of the support and brake is fully accessible. I have to remove the speedfin though whenever I wrench on it (not sure if IA has a similar cover). So YMMV.

Would any of the above work with the Scott Plasma’s Speed Skeg thing under the BB?

I have the Feedback Sports Sprint and it works fine on IA-10, so I second or third that one.

The Elite Race Repair Stand is on sale at Nashbar for about half-off the retail price. Shipping and sales tax boost the price back up, but it looked like a good product.

I got this one last month and it does the job. Haven’t put in really heavy work on my TT bike on it yet but did recable my roadie and it works great. And it’s a heck of a lot less expensive than another of the big name stands out there.
