I had my bike fit done, and, I’ve narrowed it down to these two.
Any help in deciding would be great.
Trek Equonix ttx 9.0 (09) vs 9.5 (08)
Cannondale slice 3 ('08) vs slice 5 (09)?
and/or…

I cant speak to the Trek, but I do have a 08 Slice. For purpose of disclosure I do work for a Cannondale retailer, and they do sponsor me.
The 09 Slice gets some more hi mod carbon and loses a little weight 80g and is a little bit stiffer versus the 09, other than that the frame is shaped the same… The 09 Slice 5 was supposed to come with an FSA BB30 crankset but they are making a change to the Shimano crank with an adaptor as FSA hasnt been able to supply Cannondale with enough of the BB30 cranks. If you choose the Slice and the price is close I would say the 08 Slice 3 is the better buy as it has the Carbon BB30 crank and Ultegra. If you go with the 09 you have to like white.

I really like the 08 slice, but I also like the trek ttx. What color is the 08 9.5? Was that silver? I loved the 08 9.0 ttx. that blue was amazing. I don’t see many of them, and would have loved to test it myself. Either bike is decent. I think trek has good wind numbers. Plus, they have a great warranty according to people on here.
but like the other poster said, the 09 slice-is all white! ugh!
Great options no matter which one you get! Have you ridden both? Which one fit you better? I have a 2008 TTX 9.5, which I love. If you go with the Trek, I would get the 08 TTX 9.5 instead of the 09 TTX 9.0. From what I recall, the 9.5 is made of a higher quality carbon and has better component spec list. Happy shopping!
Personally I’ve always been a little more of a fan of Cannondale. I know Trek makes great bikes, however, there is just something about Cannondale’s that I don’t think many manufacturers can duplicate. I have an earlier Aluminum Slice (05). Yes, I’m behind the times, but just to show their skill in bike making, my aluminum frame & carbon fork weighed in right around 2 Kg (I don’t remember exact weight) - after that, it’s all componentry. I just think they have that edge in making something a wee bit better. For me though, I wouldn’t mind the new Litespeed Blade, but then we’re talking boku bucks.
Cannondale + Speedo = Awesome

Cannondale, hands down

I ride an 08 Slice 3 and love it. I have set PR’s on olympic and 1/2 IM. I tried the Trek, Cervelo P2, Argon 18 114, etc and felt that they C’dale was the best bang for the buck and also the lightest off of the shelf, but first and foremost, it fit me well. I think you’d love your slice. The only complaint I have is when trying to move the saddle in small increments. The saddle mount system that C’dale uses is very frustrating to adjust. They use a reversible seat post which is cool, but the saddle mount is difficult to deal with. Once it is set it’s great, but getting it there is a pain. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker, just something to be aware of. Good luck
Trek all the way!

I loled.
Have you already factored the geo differences?
If new, Trek. Great warranty…decent price.
If used/ebay, Cannondale. The Slices are going for cheap prices. 56cm new Ultegra went for $1800 a few weeks ago. New, the price is high (although I didn’t check the retail of the bikes listed…just generally speaking, Cannondale’s prices are higher.)
Price no object, I’d ride a Cannondale with alum SI. (although the top mounted internal cables of the 09 Trek is nice)
Good luck.
I have a trek equinox 9.9 and am very happy with it as well as Trek’s customer service (first seatpost got scratched on installation they gave me a new one and let me keep both, bottom bracket had a slight crack after 1 year and they gave me a new upgraded sl frame to replace). Have you ridden both? The only drawbacks to the trek frame are that the handling in technical turns is a bit less than my old bike (QR caliente) and it may not be good for someone with a short torso as it is a long way from the seat post to the bars, hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I recently got my stack and reach fit number and both the fitter and Slowman (AKA Dan E.) said Trek works as long as I flip the seat post. My seat angle is 79 degrees. Bike Fit Numbers here. I will be riding them both this weekend if I can find them.
The Cannondale apparently has the same issue with technical turns from what I read ('07 review).
Never even rode a Canondale, but here’s my 2 pennies re Trek: Had a freak accident with a plastic bag being shot up into the the rear deraileur (sp.)… one of the seat stays bent. While it took Trek some two months to get me a replacement, the point is they did & no questions asked. The Trek dealer even worked w/me to get an upgrade.
I have 08 9.9 (DA set-up) & my only complaint during long rides is a sore neck (from looking up). Yeah, it seems heavier but I doubt that matters. At the right angles, I can literally feel the wind down my back, that is, I think it’s a pretty frigin fast bike! I’ve set PR’s I never thought possible. Anyway, my two centavos.
Trek all the way!

Service is incredible. I am having to use them, as there is some corrosion on a crank. They are replacing, and upgrading me, with no questions, and the entire process has been great. Great communication, very fast response. Also, the bikes are made incredibly well. I toured the factory, and the quality of workmanship is without compare. I have no knowledge of C’dale, having not owned one for years, but made in USA all the way, and very quality oriented. I’m very biased, as I own one, and everything I hear says it’s very fast. Talked to Joe B. at IMAZ, and he felt it was an extremely fast bike…that says a lot to me, as he actually buys his bikes.
I gotto vote for the Cannondale, no complaints

Trek. Best company I’ve done business with in a long time. They get customer service.
