Running GP5000 25mm right now on Bontrager XXX 6 wheels. Any benefit to going 28mm? Is this too wide for the bike? As reference, I’m 5’9 140 lbs. Full Ironman distance events.
Thanks for your insight.

Honestly if you’re at the pointy end and you want to go as fast as possible you’d probably even be better off with a 23 up front. Definitely no reason to do a 28.
i ran the conti GP TT 25s on the XXX 6 and they mounted to be a little over 28 and had rubbing issues on the speed fin when applying high power or climbs. So much that after an IM you could see groove marks in the rubber. Last IM i ran GP 5000 TL and they were more true to size. No rub issue.
So I just purchased the conti 5000 25cc and intend on putting it a Zipp super 9. Anyone heard of that tire rubbing on the speed fin? I could put it on and see but I doubt the store will take it back.
I have GP 5000 25 on my 808 and there is no problem with the speed fin.
I found that a wide 25 will rub. I was using the Attack/Force 23/25 combo on a HED Jet+ and that was too wide. I couldn’t even get the rear tire in the frame. The GP 5000 25 should be fine, but I can’t imagine any 28 working.
