My thoughts on the bike stopped when I saw that it had such slack seat tube geometry.
When Trek updated their web site I called them up and spoke to a cat in engineering. He told me the Equinox 11 is exactly the same frame as the TT. It’s cheaper for a few reasons. 1). TT Bike has a better/more expensive paint job. 2). E11 has some cheaper componentry, wheels and fork. In other words, the frames are the same, the E11 will be cheaper and a little heavier.
Hope this helps.

Isn’t it also different because it has a different seatpost allowing it to be ridden at or around 76-78 degrees?
Yup… you’re right… (that one got by me).
A non-issue for me because I ride my Trek TT with the seat all the way down.
The point I’m trying to make is, “The TT and Equinox 11 are the same frame built up a bit differently.”
Hope this helps.

The Equinox line is a poor attempt by Trek to enter the tribike market. These bikes have been discussed here off and on since Trek went public with them, and the general consensus is that they are not among the best tribikes out there. The Equinox 11 is probably the better of the three, since it is OCLV, and at least it has a flippable seatpost that allows for a steeper seat angle. But the geometry of the TTT/Eq. 11 is a bit odd, and most folks have a hard time fitting correctly on one. For the money that the Eq. 11 costs, you could do a lot better.
And since we’re talking about Trek, I still don’t know why Trek doesn’t make a bona fide, steep angled, tricked out OCLV tribike. A bike like that would be an instant winner.

The pictures make the frames look different.
Or is that just a difference in frame size?
That is just a difference in frame size (s,m,l). That is why they look different.
