Trek Bicycle Tours

I know people here have done them. Specifically looking for information on the family trips in Europe, but will take any feedback you may have.

Thanks,

John

I asked this question a few weeks ago. The generally feeling was that they are really high and you could put together your own for much less. I was specifically enquiring about the one in North Carolina.

Assuming the risk of saying anything nice about Trek on this forum:

I did the Classic Climbs of the Tour last year and thought it was fantastic-one of the best trips I have ever done. Trips are pricey, but the one I took was very well done. It was also nice to walk out to bike rack in the morning and find a 5200 ready to go. I will do another one first chance I get, but this summer is a family Backroads trip that has a little biking. I had never done any kind of tour group thing, but in my group of 16, 14 had and many had done multiple such trips (one guy had done 16)-talking to those folks (combined with my experience on the trip) was the biggest encouragement. Very diverse group-except economically-if you do not like doctors, lawyers, successful business people or trust fund people-don’t go Trek.

Trek travel trips get rave reviews from the dealers that I’ve talked to. These are very reasonably priced trips. This is 4 and 5 star eating and accomodations. They provide the bikes. The guides are tireless. One of the consistant remarks was that the guides were the last to go to bed, and the first ones up in the morning.
The website will have all the trips with descriptions. They’ve added weekend trips this year, which have been very popular.

Have a great time.

I had friends who did the TdF Tour last year. They said it FAR exceeded their expectations and plan to do another in the future…

Trek tours can be nice and all but they are way way overpriced compared to some other European based tour companies.

Check out www.sportingtours.co.uk excellent company with very reasonable prices.
