What are the best treadmills to use with Zwift? Are the smart treadmills that connect directly to the Zwift app better? I have the footpod but it has terrible accuracy.
I recently purchased the AssaultRunner Elite and it has been accurate and connects straight to my ipad running Zwift. It is an investment and I believe it will last longer than the motorized types. I have also found the slight curve to be easier on my legs.
I just got a Sole F85 and couldnt be happier. Super quality and perfect integration with Zwift.
I would say two small things that bogs me (though no deal breaker):
-
That the belt and hence Zwift does not register if a person is actually on the belt.
-
It would be neat, but potentially dangerous and more likely legally not safe, if Zwift pace (i.e. a workout) would manage the speed/inclination of the belt.
Everything else is perfect. Recommend 10/10

Just ran 45 minutes on my Sole F85 with zwift. I use a Scosche Rhythm 24 heart rate monitor that allows zwift to track HR and pace. It’s not perfect and zwift usually tracks that I’m moving a bit faster than I am, but it adds an element of entertainment.
I have the Lifefitness T5 treadmill with the track console. Works perfectly with Zwift.
Horizon makes a couple that use Bluetooth to connect, I have the 7.8AT and its a super solid machine.
We have a woodway 4front; connects directly to apple TV.

Nice setup!
We bought this last year and love it. Plus you can do actual short and fast intervals without being limited by a motor.
Thanks, a little overkill but a really nice treadmill.
For under $100 you can make any treadmill compatible with Zwift (I.e. it will broadcast pace/speed from the treadmill via Bluetooth) with the North Pole Engineering “Runn†device. It also broadcasts ant+ footpod so you can record the workout on your watch or another device, and it will broadcast incline though I haven’t seen an app which would allow me to automatically incorporate/log the elevation with my Garmin upload.
I have a Runn and really like it (also have and recommend their C.A.B.L.E. Device which can convert ant+ heart rate, speed/cadence, power meters and foot pods to BLE). My brother got a Runn for his treadmill to help with mundane treadmill miles and his three kids with Zwift accounts have suddenly started wanting to use the treadmill a lot (they are already crazy about Zwift on the bike).

^^^^^^This.
If the treadmill that fits your needs has BT, great; but you don’t need to have it as a constraint.
Bought a Horizon 7.8t for zwift. Their delivery company sucks, but the treadmill is solid. The 7.8 has the largest motor so intervals are great.
Hi.
I love my Technogym Myrun.
As good if not better than the huge heavy duty Life Fitness 9500HR that it replaced and it works seamlessly with Zwift.
Pat.
I have a Sole F85 that broadcasts pace over BT, so will work directly with Zwift.
I’m not 100% sure on this, but I believe the REV. 3 version of Horizon 7.0 works directly with Zwift.
The 7.4 and 7.8 work for sure and I’ve heard really good things about each of them.
I hadn’t heard of Technogym until recently but it seems to be mentioned quite often. I was concerned about the lower spectrum power of the motor at only 2.5 - 3.0HP though. Is this a problem for you?
I will look into this also. Thanks for the tips.
Nordictracks have BlueTooth but was told they only sync with their propriety equipment and apps. Not sure if its true. Any insight?
Hi.
The Technogym Myruns power sounds low compared to some others, but it’s a solid unit with as much power as my old commercial Life Fitness.
I’ve done many sub 20 minute 5k’s and sub 40 minute 10k’s and we’ll as longer runs of more than an hour at 8 minute miling.
And it’s a very nice simple unit.
Don’t make the mistake of buying a generic £1000 (UK pounds) one - they just don’t cut it for people like us (compared to the general population).
Pat.
Marketing. A regular 15 amp outlet can only give you around 2.5 hp continuous. I would argue the flywheel weight would be more important than hp rating if one was to worry about specs.
