Hey Austinites…

I have a proform 995 SEL and I have a squeak that is just bugging me…Anyone know if a local good repair person that I can call and discuss with or can come to my house?

I like to run in the am early…and I have headphones on…but too much noise

When I lived in Austin I bought from treadmill from Fitness HQ http://www.fitnesshqsouthtexas.com/

My console broke and the repair guy came to my house. I chatted with him and he said he goes as far as Waco to fix treadmills.

In my past life as a repair tech, its normally two things cause squeaking on treadmills. If it only squeaks when you are running and with every foot strike, its likely a loose drive belt. If its just a constant annoying sound even if nobody is on the machine, then its like a dry drive belt.

Some proform treadmills you cannot tighten the drive belt, if this is the case you would need to replace. If you can tighten, should be pretty easy fix.

If its just a dry drive belt, open the motor shroud and run the ribbed part of the belt over a bar of soap.

Third, it could be a bad bearing, but I would bet on the first two.
