Dear all, I’ve to travel by flight (in sept.) with my new Speedmax CF SLX. I just realized it’s very hard to dismount the handlebar, so the options are:
1- To buy the Canyon Transport Signature Pro
2- Use the Canyon cardboard box used for the bike delivery (the size fits airline requirements)
3- … trying to dismount in someway the handlebar and use the Scicon Aerotech Evolution

I’d say heck no to a cardboard box, I know some people fly with bikes in those but idk seems risky with a bike that nice. If anything happens to it the airline will not do a damn thing to fix/pay/make it right, most likely.
Do you already own the scicon case? Is that why it’s an option? I know nothing about that bike but my vote is to get the canyon bag. Peace of mind is priceless.
I don’t own the scicon but I’ve reserved it for rental… I can cancel, no problem.
I agree the Canyon one could be the best option, let’s see…
For sure the new Speedmax SLX, has a such complex cockpit to dismount to put then in the scicon…

facing the same dilemma here: buying the Canyon Signature Transport Pro box for 600 USD (dedicated to the bike but expensive, soft shell, extremely heavy) or somehow dismounting the handlebar/cockpit and fitting it into a standard hard shell box…
Any recommendations?
