I just watched this documentary about Rob Ford. I don’t know if Netflix is showing this in any other countries but it’s an interesting watch.
Trump stole his playbook. Demonize the media. Lie non stop. Deny everything until you can deny no more. Refuse to step down. Convince your followers that everyone is out to get you.
The only real differences is that Ford would eventually admit his lies when it became clear that he couldn’t lie any more.
Anyway, interesting look at how right wing populism swept Ford into power as the Mayor of Toronto.
No I never voted for him. Not that I would have but I had already moved out of Toronto when he ran.
