Trainingpeaks schedule flexibility

I am looking into the training peaks site for some direction in training this year. I am giving tris a break and going to focus solely on cycling. My question is about the schedule. I am a firefighter in a large, pretty high run volume city. I work 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Once a month I have 5 straight off. Now, if I were to order training peaks, how effective would it be? It is VERY rare that I would be able to attempt anything at work other than a lifting session or some plyo. So, if the workout called for 2 workouts then a rest day, I would be fine. But if it went three days in a row, I couldn’t do it. I effectively “only” have 4.5 days a week that I can commit to riding. A personal coach is probably out of the question right now since we are looking to move, just had a baby and the wife just dropped to part time at the hospital.

Any suggestions? I just don’t want to spend $70 and find out that I can’t use it very well.

Thanks!

TrainingPeaks just gives you suggested workouts and # of workouts based on what phase of training you are in and what length your goal race is. You plug in what days you will do the workouts and how long each workout will be.

Okay, thanks.

I was just making sure that it didn’t call for example, like 2 days of ‘X’ workout, 3 days of ‘Y’ workout and then a rest day. Something that would be detrimental if I missed a day on their schedule.

Have you signed up for the seven day free trial? You can play around see how you like it.
