Has anyone checked their trainingpeaks account today and noticed the “upgrades”?
They now make you pay for split screen view of the map and graph, as well as the ability to view your splits, and zooming into specific portions of a run/ride!?
So the upgrade is to reduce functionality and then start charging you $19.95 per month to get it back. Really?

I quit using training peaks. It’s a hassle to enter workouts and data, the site loads slow no matter what machine/browser I’m using, it’s not intuitive at all. Horrid.
I do like the split screen. Makes it much easier to view information. Can’t blame them for wanting to get paid, but to take away features that were already available is kinda lame. For what it worth I do pay to use the site and it makes my life much easier for training and coaching.
try dragging a workout from today to Sat. Or dragging a workout from your workout menu into a future date.
It wont allow it. It will allow you to edit existing workouts, but not make new ones or move

You have to ‘complete’ the workout first. Click completed as planned then you can move. I agree TP is garbage software.
I know Phil offers use of a server for coaches, and he could give you charges. His RaceDay Apollo is a very nice program with some great features and also is great for swimming and running as well. It seems to be the best going now, and allows one to sync into their computer calendar as well. Check it out.
I often refer back to past workouts to check my interval paces. But now I can’t see any of the past intervals unless I pay $20/month.
So basically they lured people to store training info there, and have now started charging to access that data. It’s useless to me without the intervals info, and I never would have used TP if they’d said there would be an eventual fee for this. It seems a bit like extortion–“pay us or you’ll never again see the data we offered to keep for free.”
Even Garmin Connect shows interval data for free. I would have used that site if I’d known this was coming.
I see there’s a way to download all my past workout files, but I need to be a premium member for that. I’m guessing they put it in a proprietary format that can only be read by WKO+, and not in the original Garmin format it came from? In other words, it can’t then be re-uploaded to Garmin Connect?
What a lousy move. They’re not getting a penny from me, ever, for anything.
This is an interesting development for those that got into Trainingpeaks.com through the purchase of a Timex Global Trainer.

Hi Bob,
I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the Timex! It’s a great device. We’ve got a lot of people using it to log a TON of workouts and that’s always a good sign
First, thank you for your comments. I’m very sorry about your frustration, but I feel like this may just be a miscommunication.
Let me make a few quick points to make sure we’re on the same page. I apologize if these are things you already know, I just want to be thorough.
With the purchase of your Timex watch, you get a Basic account with a few extra Premium features, courtesy of Timex (e.g. Lap Split Pods in the Detailed Workout View).
Your Timex account is completely free. You don’t have to pay for any of the extra features Timex adds to your account. You’re not required to upgrade…it’s just an option if you want access to more Premium pods.
Like I said, I hope this is just a misunderstanding. We absolutely never set out to deceive our customers or use misleading language. We promised free TrainingPeaks software and Timex threw in access to some Premium services to sweeten the deal, so you’re getting upgraded features on your account at no cost.
If you’d like to talk to me more about this, I’m definitely all ears. Feel free to shoot me an email (clivingston@peaksware.com) and we can discuss this more. Thanks again for your input. I hope you continue to enjoy the device and the TrainingPeaks software. They’re both really great products.
Thanks
Seems that the deal that buyers of the TGT received just got nixed (i.e lap splits, etc.), though there was never a time limit implied at the time of purchase of the TGT.
I noticed this today too… this is annoying. Hopefully their will be enough complaints that they may change their tune… I used sports tracks for all of 2010 and decided to switch to training peaks for 2011 due to its enhanced features… and then suddenly today I wasn’t able to zoom into lap splits anymore. Very very annoying… I would have stuck with sport tracks had I known this was going to happen.
As I thought I have been a bit anal in having multiple spots for my workout info, it seems this has worked for the best for me. I knew I liked RaceDay Apollo, and having the info on my computer. I also use Poweragent, Garmin Training Center and iSmarttrain, Golden Cheetah(I’m on a mac), so am really glad I never did the WKO+ routs as well. I guess this shows us all to have backups of all of the workout at our disposal…
