Canadian winters make it unpleasant to train outside. I’m looking for a cheap place south to train a few weeks this winter. Any recommendations ? Ideally a bike friendly place with paved roads/low traffic and beach access (outside of USA).
Don’t blame you for avoiding the US! I constantly see so many European triathletes especially the Pros doing training camps in Lanzarote, Spain. I’ve been fascinated in the Canary Islands for a long time but it’s not an easy place to get to from the US. But easy and cheap for those in Europe. Maybe you can get a direct flight to Madrid and then to Lanzarote easily enough from Canada.
Check out Club La Santa in Lanzarote. It looks like Disneyland for triathletes. Looks so fun!
