Does anybody train in Bloomington, IL? I’ll be down there for my sister’s graduation this weekend and I would like to sneak in a 60 mile ride on Saturday. Any suggestions as to how I might be able to find a suitable route?

60 miles = lots of open country roads. They all run north/south or east/west and intersect every mile. And the winds there tend to come from the west, so keep that in mind when you plan a direction. The only real scenery in the area are a few small lakes (Bloomington, Evergreen and Dawson) so for that distance I wold probably head north out of town and ride around lakes evergreen and bloomington, then head out in a straight line somewhere and work back to town. If you want to hit Daswon lake, too, you’ll be looking at about an 80 mile loop.
I’m a tri-shark member. We have a FB group that’s open. You might be able to find some folks up for a ride that distance in the afternoon. Enjoy bloomington/normal!
A local shop, Bloomington Cycle and Fitness, hosts group rides most days of the week. Saturday rides are usually hit or miss due to racing, but this weekend I don’t think to many are planning on racing. Sundays are usually a good size group covering around 50-60 miles.

The earlier post about it being windy as hell is accurate. I’ll post a few routes later.
