Due to some life changes (new job and two moves – long story), I am taking this year off from triathlons. I was actually planning on taking the year off from all races, but decided late last year to enter the lottery for the 2007 New York City Marathon (I’ve done Chicago twice). Well lo and behold, I got it! I am very excited, but now comes the tough part: training. I’m not looking for training tips (long-time runner and five-year triathlete); instead I am reaching out to any Hoboken/Jersey City based Slowtwitchers to see if you guys have any suggestions on places to train in the area. I am close to the Path station so I can always head into the city on the weekends to run/ride in Central Park, but given my fairly long work hours, I am hoping to find places to get in 5-10 mile runs during the week after work on this side of the river. I work in the city, but would prefer to come back to Hoboken, decompress a bit, and then work out during the week. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated – thanks in advance!
lived in hboken for years and thought it was a great place to run. Head north over those little bridges and then turn around and run all the way back along the river, Post card views of the city the whole way.
