has anyone spent any time in France training. im looking at basing myself in the south. any advice about areas and clubs would be good
Southeast definitely. Aix en Provence would be nice. They have a very good tri club with lots of fast guys (mostly Long distance dudes…Chabaud, Faure, etc.)
You are close to the sea, close to the mountains.
Aix is a really nice town to live in btw. Cannes, Nice and the Riviera is nice of course but very pricey and it’s a major pain in the butt to be there during the summer. For instance riding along the sea is awesome in the spring, and you simply can’t do it in the summer.
But the backcountry of Cannes is nice (Grasse, Mougins, Opio).
