Trainers!

I seek knowledge on a good trainer. I am going rule out the computrainer because of price! I am looking at spending $300 to $500…

Shhhhh,dont tell the wifey!

Thanks!

have you searched the forum? this comes up at least once a week. there should be plenty of info for you to read through.

Yeah - we were talking about this on another thread, too. I suggested Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer. I did a bunch of research and read lots of review before deciding. There was a review last year comparing Kinetic to Cyclops on the Fit Werks site, and they reccommended Kinetic. I got mine about 3 years ago. It rocks. Fluid trainers are best. The resistence increases as you ride, and they’re the quietest.

I tried to find Fit Werks home page tonite to reference the article, but had some difficutly. Waitaminute…

Okay - Fitwerx.com (they send me a free Spinnervals VHS w/ my trainer!) Or Kinetic Manufacturing phone #763.574.8324. It was $320-ish a few years ago.

Spend the money on looking for a job where you don’t need a trainer.

Then let us know where that is.

You didn’t give any criteria except price range.

Funny! I do have a job that allows me to ride in! Its called the US NAVY. I live 40 miles from work and usually drive to an area about 20 miles away and then ride the bike the rest of the way. In the perfect world I could do it that every day…But, as we all know, not all is perfect. The trainer was to be used as a back up for training and I want to get the wife to bike more and since she gets freaky on the roads, a trainer sounded like a good alternative. I chech out the the web site fellow ST’r mentioned…Thanks.

Looks like the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine will be the pick!

Thanks to all…

PS…Yes, the US NAVY is hiring! And they even let you shave your legs!

1Up. There is nothing close (assuming you just want a trainer and not a computer hook up). Call the companies and ask if they will give you a trial so you can test them yourself. If you ride both? You’ll keep the 1Up - it’s that simple. I’ve let 5 people borrow mine when they were shopping, and they have all bought their own from 1Up.
