Hi there,
New to town and training for IMLP. Wondering if anyone can suggest some decent trail runs close to town. Looking forward to getting out there.
Many thanks,
Hart
P.S. Anyone doing the X-Country race in Longmont tomorrow morning?

Mesa trail links chataqua park and eldorado state park. Flagstaff trail leaves from the far west end of University Rd. and goes up the hill, marshal mesa/dowdy draw is a series of trails just out of town to the south off of Cherryvale and 93rd (broadway becomes 93rd out of town), eagle/res trails are behind the boulder res, red rocks and sanitas trails are off of sunshine canyon just behind boulder center for sports medicine. Magnolia road is a few miles out of town. Drive west on canyon, left of magnolia road and drive to the top where it turns to dirt. There are a bunch of small trails off the road.
Go to the Boulder Map Store off Arapahoe and 15th and buy a map of hte area. There are a lot more trails just a little bit west of town in the hills.
That should get you started
Thanks, Aaron. I appreciate the help. See you out there!
Your absolute best thing to do is to get a Boulder County trail map - it shows everything. And, I mean EVERYTHING. It won’t show trails in the future. My trail map is from 2004 and there have been some additions since. I don’t know what the new one looks like ( i haven’t been in Boulder for sometime). I don’t think this is the one http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.2pedal.com/store/prod_img/9781879866201L.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.2pedal.com/store/productView.php%3Fprod%3D9781879866201&usg=__IGCXp9g-3HFlv_y62C0yuhOFHWk=&h=400&w=203&sz=35&hl=en&start=2&um=1&tbnid=RjDd9M10rOv7WM:&tbnh=124&tbnw=63&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dboulder%2Bcounty%2Btrail%2Bmap%2B2004%26ndsp%3D21%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1, but I could be wrong. If the trail map has millions of trails everywhere then that is your map. It will be found in cycling stores and maybe Boulder Running CO. Whatever you do - always look for that map - trust me - a real find. I would tell you the company that makes it but it is locked up somewhere in my storage unit.
